Our Worship Services

First Presbyterian Church of Bonham offers two different worship services on Sunday mornings throughout the year.  We hope you will join us for worship.  You can be sure you will receive a warm welcome whichever service you choose to attend.

The same sermon is preached at both services. The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper (Communion) is served every Sunday at both services; on the first Sunday of the month, by passing of trays in the pews, and the rest of the month by intinction (the practice of partly dipping the bread into the wine or grape juice).  All are welcome at the Lord’s Table.

Both services also offer an opportunity for those in attendance to share joys and concerns.

Children are welcome in either service, and worship notebooks with coloring pages are available from the ushers.  A nursery is provided for infants through five years during all Sunday morning activities.

Assistive hearing devices are available during either worship service by contacting the usher.

Service Distinctions

  • The 9:00 a.m. worship service is less formal than the 11:00 a.m. service, and those in attendance tend to dress casually. The praise team leads contemporary worship music.
  • The 11:00 a.m. worship service is a traditional service with choral music accompanied by organ and piano.  Dress ranges from suits to jeans.  A time for children is included in this service.

Sunday School is available for all ages between the two services at 10:00 a.m. in the Williams Education Building. For more info, link to our adult, children, or youth pages.
