Souper Bowl of Caring
Every year, we join with congregations from all over the country to participate in the Souper Bowl of Caring. After worship on Super Bowl Sunday, youth hold soup pots at each of the exits in order to collect donations of $1 per person. All of the money collected is given to a local charity that feeds the hungry (usually either the Fannin County Community Ministries or Kool Summer Lunch Program.) |
School Supplies at the Children's Center
Each year before school starts, we join with our church's children's group to help move, sort and organize school supplies at the Fannin County Children's Center. Our efforts help them prepare for their annual school supply drive which gives free school supplies to 400-500 needy students from all over Fannin County.
Relay for Life
Every year we have a youth team (and adult team) for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Bonham. All youth help raise funds for our team by hosting an annual car wash. Relay Team Members also help out with an after church luncheon in the spring and a craft & bake sale in November.
KOOL Lunches
For one week each summer we help prepare and distribute free lunches to needy children in Fannin County. This summer lunch programs helps feed children who get free lunches during the school year. The KOOL Lunch Program is a project of the Fannin County Foundation. KOOL stands for Kids Of Our Lord.
