
Adult Ministry
Adult Ministry is responsible to provide for the Christian Education of all adults.
This includes:

Each meeting should include Prayer, Worship, Study, Fellowship, Service (inside and outside the church), and Invitation.

Recruiting and training all adult Sunday morning group teachers.

Celebrating the work of the teachers with special recognition events and Teacher Commissioning services.
-
Promoting Presbytery events such as Faith & Grief Retreat, Men’s Retreats, Women’s Retreats, Spiritual Retreats, Silent Retreats, Pilgrimage, etc.

Provide for other special adult educational events.

Promote and oversee the small group ministries:

Helping Hands

Young Adults

MomCo.

Coordinating with the pastor to provide Presbyterian 101 classes for new members.

Overseeing the church library located in the Parlor.

Coordinating advertisements and publicity for all special events. This consists of getting information in article form to the church office in a timely manner (no less than 3 weeks prior to event) for Friday Emails, Monthly Newsletters, Weekly Bulletins, Website, Social Media, and Press Releases to North Texas e-News.

Sponsoring and promoting opportunities to engage those outside the church.

Encouraging the congregation to invite others to worship and other church events.

Checking your committee mailbox weekly. Plus fill out the Expense/Reimbursement Form for any bill or invoice associated with your committee and put it in the Treasurer’s mailbox.
Sunday Morning Group Teachers
We currently have three Sunday morning groups for our adults to attend.
Light refreshments are available to all in the Fellowship Hall during the 10 o’clock hour.

The Gardeners are a Video/ Discussion based group which meets in the Parlor

The teacher begins and ends the meeting with prayer.

​The hour begins with a video which lasts approx. 15 mins.

Discussion led by the teacher follows the video. Keeping the discussion on track is key for a successful group meeting.

The Giddy-Up Gang is a Devotional based group which meets in the FH.

The teacher begins and ends the meeting with prayer.

The hour begins with a short reading or a devotional, followed by a word from the teacher.

The Young Adults are a Video/ Discussion based group of Graduates thru Mid 20s which meets in Room 1.

Pastor Lisa is available to advise on any Teacher Commissioning Services.
The church office is available to help with any Teacher Recognition events, gifts, or acknowledgements.
The refreshment volunteers could be published in the monthly newsletter for a reminder, if given to the church office no later than the Friday following the session meeting.
Small Group Ministries
FPC has small groups that meet throughout each month.

Presbyterian Women meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the Parlor.

PW operates with a Moderator, Vice Moderator, Secretary, and Treasurer.

PW meetings consist of a short business meeting to begin, followed by a short video and discussion.

The PW purchase approximately 20 bible study books along with the relevant DVD at the end of each year with the church’s debit card. Each member then pays for their study book and the church is reimbursed from the PW separate account.

The PW have an annual Salad Luncheon on one Saturday during the month of August, where they announce their elected Honorary Lifetime Member.

Their regularly scheduled December meeting usually consists of a cookie exchange and/or recounting fun memories of Christmases past.

Young Adults typically meet once a month at different locations for fun and fellowship. YA use GroupMe to communicate upcoming events.

MomCo. meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month in the Lounge (Rm. 1). Childcare is provided in the connected children’s classroom. (Rm. 3)
