
Children's Ministry
Children’s Ministry is responsible to provide for the Christian Education of all children ages birth through 5th grade.
This includes:

Each meeting should include Prayer, Worship, Study, Fellowship, Service (inside and outside the church), and Invitation.

Recruiting and training all children’s Sunday school teachers.

Overseeing the church nursery and staff in conjunction with the pastor/head of staff and HR Committee.

Celebrating the work of the teachers with special recognition events and Teacher Commissioning services.

Maintaining the resource closet.

Gifting bibles to all third graders.
-
Promoting and overseeing the FROGs children’s program.

Overseeing any music programs for children (Bell Choir or Kid’s Chorus)

Organizing and promoting vacation bible school.

Planning the annual children’s Christmas program and party.

Promoting Presbytery events including summer camp and Kidquake.

Administering camp scholarships from the Williams bequest.

Please note the church pays half of registration fees for each youth and the full registration fee for all adult sponsors.

Parents can request a scholarship from Prairie Valley for their half of the registration fee no later than two weeks prior to the event through the church office.

Providing children’s care and activities during committee night, if needed.

Coordinating advertisements and publicity for all special events. This consists of getting information in article form to the church office in a timely manner (no less than 3 weeks prior to event) for Friday Emails, Monthly Newsletters, Weekly Bulletins, Website, Social Media, and Press Releases to North Texas e-News.

Sponsoring and promoting opportunities to engage those outside the church.

Encouraging the congregation to invite others to worship and other church events.

Checking your committee mailbox weekly. Plus fill out the Expense/Reimbursement Form for any bill or invoice associated with your committee and put it in the Treasurer’s mailbox.

Maintaining background checks for all volunteers cleared for service through the church office.
Sunday School Teachers
We currently have one Sunday morning class combining K- 5th.
Light refreshments are available to all in the Fellowship Hall during the 10 o’clock hour.

The study curriculum is chosen by the committee and approved by session each year.

They currently meet all together in Room 2

A second classroom, Room 3, is available to divide the ages.

Pastor Lisa is available to advise on any Teacher Commissioning Services.
​
The church office is available to help with any Teacher Recognition events, gifts, or acknowledgements.
Presbytery Events
